CB70w Battery Issues Troubleshooting
The CB70w mini Wi-Fi camera has a built-in battery. Due to its compact size, the battery capacity is limited.
The camera only takes 5V DC charging power. Please use a certified 5V DC adapter, ideally with 1A output.
In Power Saving Mode (the default setting), the camera stays in sleep and save power when no motion is detected. It will automatically wakes to record when motion occurs or when you access the live feed in the app.
Battery draining too fast?
- Check if the camera is in Power Saving Mode. Continuous Working Mode can drain the battery within a few hours. You can find the options in Working Modes.
- Try aim your camera to area where only important motion happens.
- Turn on Human Detection to focus on human shapes and ignore other motion. This helps reduce unnecessary alerts, recordings, and power consumption. You can find this option in Monitoring Functions.
- Ensure your camera has a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection. If the connection is lost, the camera will repeatedly try to reconnect, which significantly increases power consumption.
- Keep the camera plugged in if you need to record frequent motion events, check live view often, or use 24/7 continuous recording mode.
Here are some lab test data for reference:
- If the camera is constantly recording, it will only last for 10 hours.
- If there are about 10 motion detection events (10s each) per day, the camera will last 30 days or more.
- If there’s no motion detected and no live view usage, the camera can last up to 100 days on a full charge.
Camera won’t charge?
- Make sure you are using a certified 5V DC (preferably 1A) adapter and the cable that came with the camera.
- Check that the camera’s charging port is clean, free of dust/debris, and not damaged.
- Try a different power outlet, then a different 5V DC adapter, and finally a different USB cable to rule out power issues.
- Try charging for a longer time.
- Contact customer support if the problem persists.
