Yoosee Wi-Fi Battery Camera Motion Detection Troubleshooting (Yoosee app)
Like most battery-powered security cameras, Yoosee Wi-Fi battery cameras (P41/P41-S and Q41-S) use a PIR motion sensor to detect motion.
If your camera isn’t detecting motion as expected, try the following steps to identify the cause:
Missing and Slow Motion detection:

Before confirming a missing motion detection issue, first check your saved recordings (micro SD card or cloud).
If motion clips are saved but you did not receive any alerts, the issue is likely notification settings, not detection.
If you are not receiving alerts, please refer to the notification troubleshooting section.

Ensure "Smart Detection" is enabled in the app. Turned on by default.

By default, the camera has a 3-minute cooldown period after each motion-triggered recording. If you want the camera to detect motion more frequently, go to the "Smart Detection" settings and select a shorter "Minimal event interval" in "Event Recording".

Increase "Motion Detection Sensitivity".

Set "Detection Area" to include all zones and "Detection Schedule" to cover all time, as both settings can cause missed detections.

Turn off "Person Detected" for areas with obstructions or complex scenes. If the camera's view contains obstructions such as fences, people may not appear fully visible in the image. In this case, the setting may not correctly identify a person, resulting in missed alerts or recordings.

Ensure the camera faces an open area. Do not cover or shroud the front of the camera. Otherwise, the PIR motion detection function will not work.

The PIR motion sensor works based on heat and cannot detect motion through glass or windows.
It may miss some motion from small animals.
It may miss motion or trigger false detections in very hot areas.

In the default "Power Saving Mode", the camera takes about 1 second to wake up and start recording after detecting motion.
Weak or slow Wi-Fi connections can also increase this delay. As a result, fast-moving objects may be missed or appear in empty video clips if they move out of view before recording begins.
For better results, adjust the camera angle and placement so movement stays in view longer.

Motion may not be reliably detected when someone walks directly toward the camera, because the movement is minimal within the camera’s view. The sensor works best when motion moves across the camera's view.
To solve this problem, adjust the camera angle and placement so that people move across its view instead of directly toward it.
Mounting the camera to the side of the walkways and adjusting the sensitivity in the app can also help.

False Motion Detection:

If you're getting false alerts, turn on "Person Detected" in "Smart Detection" to focus on human shapes and ignore other motion. This helps reduce unnecessary alerts and recordings.

Lower the "Motion Detection Sensitivity".

Use "Detection Area" and "Detection Schedule" to make sure the camera only detects motion where and when you need it.

Avoid pointing the camera at areas with frequent small movements, such as trees, shadows, curtains, or reflective surfaces, which can trigger false alerts.
