Hotspot connection user guide (UBox)
The hotspot connection mode only works for B/E series cameras produced before 2025. It does not work for the F series or the latest B/E series.
Even for older devices, we strongly recommend connecting them to a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network instead of using this hotspot connection mode. These cameras are designed to function as Wi-Fi security cameras for reliable performance.
For devices that support this function, you can use it when Wi-Fi is not available, but it is not intended for long-term use.
-
Please insert a micro SD card (up to 128GB) into the camera when it's powered off. The micro SD card is necessary to store videos without Wi-Fi.
-
Turn on the camera and wait for 30 seconds (booting up). If the camera keeps flashing blue, it's in the Wi-Fi connection mode and needs to be reset into the hotspot connection mode.
-
If the camera's indicator flashes red (indicating the hotspot connection mode), please skip this step.
Reset to the hotspot connection mode:
• Press and hold the reset button for about 8 seconds.
• When the indicator light turns purple for the first time (both blue and red lights on), the camera is reset into Wi-Fi mode.
• When the light turns purple for the second time, the camera is reset into hotspot mode.
• Release the button immediately when you see the purple light for the second time.
-
Set up the camera with a hotspot connection:
• After the reset, the light will flash red, and the camera will create a hotspot starting with “UBox_”.
• Make sure the UBox app is closed on your phone. Open your phone’s Wi-Fi list and connect to the “UBox_” network using the password 12345678.
• Once connected, open the UBox app to access the camera.
-
The hotspot connection has a very short range. If your phone moves more than 1 meter away from the camera, the connection will be lost.
